At Karen Blampied’s iconspirit art studio, the writing of icons is according to traditional techniques; wood is carefully chosen, covered with strips of cloth and a gesso surface is then applied using rabbit skin glue and chalk. The icons are then gilded with gold leaf and painted using egg tempera. |
