‘All my Delight is in your Saints. The faithful who dwell in your land.’

This quote from psalm 16 was not only the title of the 2010 Twelve Parish Saints Icon Project, but also my sentiments as I look back on that incredible pilgrimage through the 12 parishes.

My visit to each Parish Church as artist in residence enabled me not only to paint an icon of the Parish Saint but also to meet the people of that parish.

I have come away from this experience with a great sense of joy, I have truly met the ‘faithful’ who dwell in this island. Talking and praying with parishioners was an inspiring way to reflect and develop the icon of each Parish Saint.

Over the year, while artist-in-residence, over a thousand people came to see the work I was doing in each parish Church.

The final exhibition of all the icons at All Saints Church highlighted the value of the journey where people had an opportunity to visit all the Twelve Parish Saints together.

A big thank you must go to the Anglican community for welcoming me into their churches and to the parishioners of All Saints Church for hosting the exhibition

What next?

2011 began with an incredible commission to write an icon of the Resurrection for a 100 year old lady, a birthday present from all her children. I had several other commissions to complete by Easter.

In July I was invited to participate in the Christian Arts Festival on the Mont Saint Michel. This Festival ran from the 21st-25th July 2011. Called ‘13 Centuries between Sky and Sea’ (13 Siècle entre Ciel et Mer) the Festival aims to gather Christian artists together to witness to the link between their craft and their faith. http://festival.mtstmichel.free.fr

In August I was invited to be Artist-in-Residence at the Anglican Church in Dinard writing an icon of the Parton Saint of the Church, Saint Bartholomew. 22nd-28th August. 2011
